Colleen, our Director, brings with her a wealth of experience. She has over 20 years experience working in the Education sector (both independent and state), in a variety of subjects and with some of the most vulnerable children, as a teacher, Head of Department, Pastoral Manager, School Sports Partnership Development Manager, School Games Organiser and more recently as Senior Lecturer at University of Worcester leading the Primary Physical Education.
Colleen has taught across the age range from Reception to adults. She has also worked for a large Outdoor Activity Provider as: Watersports Centre Manager; Ski Programme Manager; Learning Skills Manager, specialising in Dyslexia, Literacy and Numeracy.
Colleen has delivered numerous professional development workshops during her career, some of which include: Primary and Secondary Physical Education subject specific development, time management and personal organisation, becoming an effective leader and manager, creating an organisation vision and strategy, teacher wellbeing, pupil wellbeing, organisational wellbeing, policy and strategy development, improving performance and behaviour management.
The importance of education, learning, and applying the learning was (and still is) pivotal in her own personal transformation following a life changing event in 2014. At a very challenging time, Colleen needed to find greater balance across all aspects of her life. She needed to regain her sense of self and bring her emotional, mental, nutritional and physical wellbeing into alignment.
Personal development and learning
Colleen was keen to understand how nutrition, reiki and yoga had impacted her and her late husband’s personal wellbeing so positively at a time of great stress and turmoil. Following his death she chose to study and qualify in these areas so she could help others.
Colleen is now a:
- Certified Coach and member of the Association for Coaching (AC)
- Nutrition Advisor and member of the Naturopathic Nutrition Association (NNA)
- Reiki Master
- Kundalini Tantra Yoga Teacher (Adults) with additional specialist training in Yoga for Children and Children with Special Needs.
She has insurance with Wellbeing Insurance and is currently studying to become a Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist with Natural Healthcare College.
Colleen has always had a passion for guiding people, young and old, to become the best they can be. As result of that passion combined with the profound personal transformation she has undergone, she founded NOURISH Holistic Wellbeing Ltd in November 2018.
Nourish aims to:
Guiding people to make conscious choices towards their personal wellbeing (emotional, mental, nutritional, physical and spiritual) to enable them to thrive, through education and transformation.
